2003 Vidon Vineyard Pinot Noir
Vidon Vineyard
Willamette Valley, Oregon, USA
Pinot Noir (a dry red table wine)

Estimated Cost: $35.00
Produced at the Northwest Wine Company, 2003 Pinot Noir is crafted from fruit grown in a physicist’s vineyard in the Chehalem Mountains outside of Newberg. Its chocolate-laced black fruit aromas lead to a medium-bodied personality filled with dark plums, blueberries, and red cherries. This excellent wine is satin-textured yet reveals loads of highly present tannin in the finish. Drink it between 2007 and 2013.
Vidon Vineyard, Willamette Valley (Oregon) Pinot Noir “Mirabelle Reserve” 2005 ($48): This is an
impressive wine with real depth and guts, but also notable elegance. Thankfully, the frutiness isn't purchased at the price of overt sweetness, just as the gutsiness doesn't entail a hard, over-extracted edge. Also impressive is the fact that fruit notes aren't all there is to the wine, as a faintly earthy, mushroomy character that lends interest without seeming unstable or dirty.
